What are the common materials used in manufacturing Foam Soap Dispenser Pumps?

2024.04.30

Foam soap dispenser pumps are typically manufactured using a combination of plastic and rubber materials to ensure efficient foam generation and long-lasting performance. The common materials used in the manufacturing of these pumps include:
Plastic Housing: The main housing or body of the foam dispenser pump is usually made from various types of plastic. Common plastics used include polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS). These plastics are durable, lightweight, and resistant to corrosion, making them suitable for contact with liquid soap.
Piston and Cylinder: The piston, which creates pressure to dispense the soap, is often made of plastic, such as polyethylene or polypropylene. The cylinder that houses the piston is also typically made of plastic.
Spring: The spring provides the necessary force to push the piston and create foam. Springs used in foam dispenser pumps are typically made of stainless steel or other corrosion-resistant materials.
Rubber Gaskets and Seals: Rubber materials, such as EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer), silicone, or NBR (nitrile rubber), are used for gaskets and seals within the pump to prevent leaks and ensure airtight and watertight operation.
Nozzle: The nozzle through which the foam is dispensed is usually made of plastic, such as polypropylene. Some foam pumps also have metal or chrome-plated nozzles for a more premium look and durability.
Valve Components: The valve components, which control the flow of soap and air to create foam, are often made from plastics, including silicone or TPE (thermoplastic elastomer).
Check Valves: Check valves within the Foam soap dispenser pumps, responsible for preventing backflow and maintaining pressure, are typically made of plastic materials.
Foam Generator: The foam generator components, including the mesh or screen responsible for creating the foam, can be made of various plastic materials or stainless steel.
Actuator or Pump Head: The actuator or pump head that the user presses to dispense foam is commonly made of plastic.
Metal Springs: Some foam pumps may use metal springs for the pump mechanism, which are typically made of stainless steel for corrosion resistance.
The choice of materials depends on factors such as cost, durability, resistance to chemical exposure, and ease of manufacturing. Manufacturers select materials that are compatible with the type of soap or product to be dispensed, ensuring that the materials do not react with the product and affect its quality. Additionally, these materials are chosen to provide a long service life and reliable performance for foam soap dispenser pumps.
